BH Spy, AdSector, and Adspy: The Three Best Facebook Ad Spy Tools (Discounts for All Three)

3

It’s no surprise that there’s some new Facebook Ad Spy tools launching after the recent demise of BigBigsAds, and WhichAdsWork previously before that. It was only a matter of time before another couple of great tools were developed.

Facebook Spy Tools don’t seem to last too long. With the combined difficulties of managing affiliate-based software (always suffers from a high chargeback rate), along with the pressure of Facebook constantly trying to shut you down (whether that be from threatening legal action or putting pressure on your merchant processor), it’s a difficult business to be in.

Facebook ad spy tools make competitive research extremely easy. To be successful, it is crucial for businesses and individuals to recognize who their rivals are, and see what they are doing. If your competitors are doing something well, you should figure out how they are doing it and try to improve upon it. If they are missing something, then you should take it as an opportunity to fill a gap in the market. Facebook ad spy tools facilitate this process for you.

That said, here are three of our favorite tools that are currently active, and working very well: BH Spy, AdSector and Adspy. We are going to introduce these great tools to you, go over their key features, and show you how they can benefit your business by simplifying your competitive research. We are also offering coupons for all three tools.

BH Spy (Blackhat Spy) – Mobile Spy tool

BH Spy was designed specifically for blackhat affiliates. Blackhat ads are difficult to find, which is an issue that blackhat affiliates often face when searching for ads on spy tools. One of the reasons for this is because affiliates who run blackhat ads need to be careful about the words they use in their ad text to avoid having their accounts banned on Facebook. However, this makes it a bit more challenging and time consuming for affiliates who are searching for these ads in a spy tool database.

With BH Spy, users do not have to scroll through thousands of ads to find the blackhat ones they are looking for. Instead, affiliates have access to hundreds of blackhat affiliate ads that are recent and relevant to their campaigns. Their tool is extremely easy to navigate, saves users a ton of time on their competitive research.

While there are no filters on BH Spy, you do not need any. The point of this spy tool is that you do not have to execute a long search for your ads by filtering through different key words, countries, interests, etc. All of BH Spy’s ads are manually picked out and categorized by vertical every day to make sure you only see the most relevant and recent ads. Essentially, someone on their team has done all the competitive research for you. You just have to search for the ads you are looking for by category.

BH Spy categorizes all their affiliate ads into the following categories:

  • Skin
  • Casino & Crypto
  • Diet
  • Sweepstakes
  • Other (ED, Brain, Muscle, Hair, etc.)

How are the search results presented?

To view ads in different blackhat verticals, simply select the category you wish, and you will see all the recent affiliate ads that are relevant to that category.

All of their results include the ad text, amount of likes, shares, comments, and country. When you click an ad, you also have the option of seeing the ad on Facebook, visiting the URL, downloading the creative, and getting the landing page.

This tool is much lower than the cost for many other spy tools and would be easily justified by finding even just one new angle. The real advantage to this tool is the avoiding countless hours it takes to scroll through other spy tools to find ads in blackhat verticals.

AdSector – Desktop Spy Tool

Adsector has great filters that allow you to easily view your target market, and see what your competitors have been doing. Using this tool, you can create campaigns that perform well from the beginning, rather than testing out different methods that may or may not work. They have access to millions of ads, advertisers and publishers to help you create a successful affiliate marketing campaign.

What do their search options look like?

AdSector has split up their search options into three categories: search mode, filter, and lander props.

In ‘search mode’, affiliates can choose to select the date range in which an advertisement was last seen. For example, you can choose to search ads from the last 7 to 30 days if you are looking for the most relevant ads.

In search mode, you can also search by keyword, advertiser, or publisher. All three of these searches are very useful to affiliates.

Using the keyword search mode, you can determine who your competitors are in a given category. For example, if you are promoting make up, you can search for various relevant keywords (like mascara, make up, lipstick) to see who your rivals are in the makeup niche. The advertiser search mode will help you learn more about your competitor’s ads by inserting their URLs. Finally, the publisher search mode is useful if you are trying to analyze how other businesses/individuals are promoting their ads.

As for their filters, AdSector allows you to make very detailed searches. Some of their filters include: country, type (image of video), gender, relationship status, and age. Using these filters, you can find relevant ads that are being targeted towards a similar audience as you are targeting.

Finally, they included ‘Lander props’ in their search capabilities. In this section, you can search by affiliate network, tracking system, and e-commerce platform, such as Magento and Shopify.

Adspy – Mobile Spy Tool

Adspy’s platform has a substantial database that includes over 26.7 million ads spread over 180 countries and in 80 different languages. Using their tool, you can easily access the large amounts of data you require to optimize your campaign. The tool not only has a wealth of data, it is also extremely easy to navigate.

Adspy’s platform has a ton of filters you can choose from in order to make a detailed search. Some of their filters include the following:

  • Advertiser (search your competitor’s URL to see what ads they are running)
  • Site type (Facebook, Instagram or Facebook and Instagram)
  • Ages (select your target age range)
  • Networks (to search which affiliates are promoting on what network)
  • Countries (search competitor’s ads that are in your target region)
  • Daily likes
  • Technologies (e-commerce platforms)

Using their filters, you can get as specific as you need to in order to see what your competitors are doing.

There are a number of ways that businesses, affiliates, and E-Commerce storeowners can use Adspy to search for their rivals. Adspy provides users with examples of how to search using their tool. Here are some of the examples of their search capabilities:

Businesses / Agencies

  1. Businesses can try searching for their competitor’s name as an advertiser.
  2. They can look up their competitor’s’ name in URLs.
  3. Businesses/agencies can search comments for their competitor’s name, or their own business name to see where it has been mentioned.

Affiliates

  1. You can search by any affiliate network and country to see what is being advertised in the geo you are targeting
  2. You can search for keywords in comment, and sort comments by users’ reactions as well. For example, they can search for sad, laughing, or angry reactions on comments.

E-Commerce Stores

  1. You can search Shopify stores, and many other e-commerce platforms. You can also search stores that are targeting certain audiences.
  2. IF you have an e-commerce store, you can perform advanced searches as well. For instance, you can search Shopify ads that have a limited number of likes, and have been seen in the last week if you wanted to find “growing ads”.

The primary struggle that affiliates have with a lot of Facebook Spy Tools is that they cannot seem to filter down to relevant affiliate ads, as the tools are often cluttered with ads from large brands and agencies that they are simply not interested in.

An interesting feature of AdSpy is that they let you search based on user comments. This is a unique feature that we haven’t seen in any previous Facebook spy tools. Used correctly, this can be very powerful.

For example, as a Casino affiliate looking for new unique angles, you know that disgruntled Facebook commenters often comment “scam” or “X casino sucks” on the Facebook post. this is where using their comment feature can work to your advantage to find competing affiliates ads.

For example:
One of the largest casino affiliate offers in Canada is currently run by Grand Mondiale. By searching this with the “Comment” filter in AdSpy, we stumbled across lots of new angles:

Once you have narrowed down your search, all your search results are presented below the filters. By clicking on a result, you can see a ton of useful data, such as target age, gender, and locations the ad is running in. You will also be able to see when the ad was created and which date it was last seen, and how many likes and comments it has received.

How Do They Compare to One Another?

BH Spy, AdSector, and Adspy are all very different tools, however, they are all great. BH Spy is the most unique of the three as it has less ads than AdSector and Adspy, however, all of their ads are manually picked and categorized into the appropriate blackhat verticals. Their tool takes away all the manual work that goes into your research in order to save you time. As a result, the tool is also much more user-friendly.

Moreover, BH Spy only allows 20 subscribers access to their tool to ensure their users are truly benefiting from their tool. Finally, BH Spy also differs in that it does not have filters like the other two spy tools. Although, the filters are not necessary as the ads are pre-categorized and include essential information such as country, shares, comments, likes, ad text, landing pages, URLs, Facebook link to the ad, and creative.

Both AdSector and Adspy offer an “Affiliate Network” filter, so you can select your favorite networks and see which offers affiliates are running there. Unfortunately for both Adsector and AdSpy this filter isn’t very well maintained, and some large useful networks are missing. They also don’t seem to keep the filter up-to-date, and so networks that rotate tracking domains frequently have a lot of ads missing that should have actually been returned.

One of the main differentiating features between the tools is that AdSector currently only provides data for Desktop ads, whereas BH Spy and AdSpy currently only provides data for Mobile ads. Depending on your advertising strategy, this may factor into which you choose to try. That said, a lot of people use broad targeting on their advertisements and simply advertise to both, so you’ll see some overlap between the tools. Additionally, Adspy includes Instagram advertisements, whereas AdSector does not.

Overall, BH Spy, AdSector and Adspy are both excellent tools to help you gain competitive advantage and we recommend giving them both a try.
